TARGETS FOR SERVICES

The following individuals may be considered eligible for Pretrial Services:

    • Defendants incarcerated on a monetary bond, who have been financially unable to meet conditions for release
    • Individuals who are deemed eligible for the Intermediate Punishment Program (I.P.P.)
    • Driving Under the Influence charges that are not eligible for the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program (ARD)
    • Anyone released with non-monetary conditions of bond
    • Individuals who were removed from the ARD program

DISQUALIFYING CRITERIA

 Individuals charged with charges listed below SHALL be deemed ineligible for Pretrial Services. This list is not exhaustive, and other charges or factors may deem an individual ineligible for services. These individuals may become eligible if the disqualifying offense is dropped or lessened.

REFERRAL PROCESS

If you believe a defendant may be eligible for Pretrial Services and would like them to be assessed, please fill out the form below titled "LCPTS Referral". You may submit the completed referral form in person, or by mail, email, or fax to Pretrial Services.

When referrals are received, they will be reviewed, a background investigation will be completed, and an interview/risk assessment will be conducted with the defendant. All defendants interviewed are read and must agree to an advisement pursuant to the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure Rule 530(B).

If a defendant is deemed eligible for services, and they are INCARCERATED: A motion will be presented to the courts (via the District Attorney) to release the defendant with the outlined non-monetary conditions. The defendant is to report to Pretrial Services no later than 10 AM the next business day after being released.
