About Me

Aloha!  I am a full-time faculty member at Kapiolani Community College and I'm also the director of the Paralegal Program.  I started with KCC in 2007, and before that I worked at the state legislature for nineteen years. I was Senate Majority Attorney and Director of the Senate Majority Research Office when I left.  I've also taught legal  writing at the UH Manoa School of Law, and legal research and writing at the University of San Diego School of Law.

I'm not only a teacher, but I'm a student too.  I am in the doctoral program at UH Manoa's educational technology department (ETEC), and I use much of what I have learned in my ETEC program in my courses.  I am always looking for ways to improve my online courses!

I have a son, a daughter, and two cats.  One of the cats is a stray that we found as an abandoned, one-pound starving little fluffball.  She now runs the house.
