2016 Boys XC Update:
Dear Parents and Athletes,
Welcome to the Memorial Middle School Cross Country Program. My name is Phil Lauria and I will be coaching the Boys team for the 2016 Fall Cross Country Season.
Practice will begin on Thursday September 8th. Each day that we are in school the team will practice between 2:35 and 3:30. I would strongly recommend running 4 to 5 miles per week during the summer to help ease the transition from elementary to middle school training. Proper hydration, good eating habits, stretching, and rest are very important to a successful season of improvement. Also, a comfortable pair of running shoes will help avoid blisters on the feet and back pain.
Athletes will get changed for practice in the Boys locker room at school. Dress for the weather. No athlete is permitted in the locker room until the coach arrives to supervise. Bring all of your belongings with you because we will not reenter the builder at the conclusion of practice. We will meet at the far end of the track. Wait seated on the bleachers closet to the flagpole for the coach to arrive. No one is permitted to begin practice until the coach arrives. No exceptions. When practice is over all athletes waiting for a ride must be picked up no later than 3:30 each day at the far end of the track.
