Lauren Keroack

I am a senior at the University of South Florida, where I am pursuing a double major in Social Work and Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I began attending USF in August 2007 after graduating as salutatorian from Fleming Island High School in Fleming Island, Florida.

I was born in Virgina, but moved to Florida during the 6th grade. I was raised in a military family and I have lived and traveled around the world. I lived overseas in Bahrain for two-and-a-half years when I was in elementary school and I have also traveled to South Korea, Japan, England, and Cypress.

I love music - both playing it and listening to it. In high school, I was actively involved in marching and concert band, where I played the clarinet and was a section leader. I can also play the piano, flute, and oboe.

I enjoy learning and I love my job as an academic advisor for the Department of Psychology. In my spare time, I like to volunteer, knit, read, play with my cat, and go to the beach. I care deeply about the environment and I enjoy recycling and challenging myself to live sustainably.

After graduation, I plan to enter the Master of Social Work program at USF, but I am also considering the MSW/MPH dual-degree program with a focus on behavioral health. Although I know I will eventually pursue a career in social work, I am open-minded about the area in which I will work. I am interested in working with adolescents, but beyond that anything is possible!
