With the enthusiastic feedback and success of Watch D.O.G.S. last year, the program is back this year. We’re looking forward to having even more dads and male role models in the hallways and classrooms of Laura Wilder! Watch D.O.G.S.—Dads of Great Students is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for students and to enhance school security.
Who are Watch D.O.G.S.? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day each year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator.
Want to sign up for a day to help out at school? Fill out a Watch D.O.G.S. form (available below in attachments) and pick up a volunteer form at school. (You may also download the volunteer form from the district website. A link is available on the Volunteer Forms page.) Contact Jerry Hauff at firstname.lastname@example.org, 261-4736 (cell) or 335-8787 to get on the calendar. Moms are more than welcome to sign up for a day as well to get involved in this experience!
