A couple go on a romantic weekend in the country only to have it ruined by some violent delinquents.
This had me sitting on the edge of my seat, wondering where the next development would take the characters.
I must say that the gore isn't as graphic as in movies such as Hostel or Saw, but it managed to make the most out of what there was. There are some seriously gut wrenching scenes of horror to be found here.
Although I would really have enjoyed seeing the beautiful Miss Reilly in the buff, I'm shocking myself by saying that maybe the film is better off without it! Gratuitous nudity would have cheapened what was a fantastic example of horror film making.
Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed Eden Lake. It left me with a nasty taste in my mouth, and thinking about what happened to the characters after the end. It's been a long time since I've seen a film that has managed to disturb me on this level. Well worth checking out!
