Attached below you will find the Arabic Class Syllabus 2017-18, please read it carefully. Also a hard copy of the class syllabus will be sent home with your child; please read it and sign the back slip and send it back with your child soon.

 Welcome to Arabic 2017 -2018
 

 

It is my pleasure to see all of my students and welcome our new students to our Arabic class. I will be more than delighted to teach you and increase the amount of Arabic language and culture during this year. We will be learning more Arabic topics in a fun way to enjoy every moment in the classroom as well as loving to work on it at home. Students are encouraged to teach their parents/guardians about what we do in class for the sake of practice and engaging their family members in the learning process.

My goal is to help students making progress in the Arabic language and culture to increase their language level according to the ACTFL Standards.

  What Students are Learning in the Classroom (17-18)

K- During the month of Sep,  students  will be  learning about   "Unit 1, Greetings". The vocabulary list will be sent home that includes the the dialog we are learning. This unit is the base for learning and recognizing of Arabic script.  There are also other in-class resources that would  support the content of this unit.  Please help your child learning the language at home and encourage him/ her to link the class content to the real life.  The unit vocabulary and Alphabet is attached below "K, Unit 1, Greetings" 

1: During the month of  Sep, students will be learning about ( Unit 1, Things in My Backpack and Classroom). Our unit includes multiple topics and vocabulary review. Students will receive 2 books that includes the class content, please check inside your child Arabic binder to find these 2 books. Our new Alphabet unit is the letters (Alif- Taa). This unit includes many topics that support the reading portion along with transliteration to all vocabulary to help parents monitoring the language from home. We will be reinforcing a professional reading to the Arabic script along with the different shapes and sounds of the letters. Please find the class content in your child's book and follow the date. A flyer of this unit will be sent home and it is also attached below "1 Unit 1, Things in M B". 

2: During the month of Sep, students will be learning about (Unit 1, School Rooms). Our unit includes multiple topics and vocabulary review. Students will receive 2 books that include the class content. These 2 books are staying in the classroom. Our new unit is (  long and short Vowels). This unit includes many topics that support the reading, writing and sentence production portions along with transliteration to all vocabulary to help parents monitoring the language from home. We will be reinforcing a professional reading to the Arabic script along with the different shapes and sounds of the letters. Please find the class content in your child's book and follow the date. A flyer of this unit will be sent home and it is also attached below "2 Unit 1, School Rooms ".

3: During the month of Sep, students will be learning about (Unit 1, Shopping for School Supplies). Our unit includes multiple topics and vocabulary review. Students will receive multiple hand-outs that support the Arabic grammar and phonetics. Students received 2 books that include the class content. Our new unit from the book ( Taa and Yaa as a long vowel). This unit includes many topics that support the reading, writing and sentence production portions. We will be reinforcing a professional reading to the Arabic script along with the different shapes and sounds of the letters. Please find the class content in your child's book and follow the date. " A flyer for this unit will be sent home and it is also attached below "3 Unit 1, Shopping for School Supplies ".

4: During the month of  Sep, students  will be learning about (4 Unit 1, My School Schedule, ). Our unit includes multiple topics and vocabulary review. Students will receive multiple hand-outs that support the Arabic grammar and phonetics. Our new unit from the book (I Read Arabic) ( The Letter Jeem and Shaddah). This unit includes many topics that support the reading, writing and sentence production portions. We will be reinforcing a professional reading to the Arabic script along with the different shapes and sounds of the letters. This unit includes many topics that support the reading, writing and sentence production portions. We will be reinforcing a professional reading to the Arabic script along with the different shapes and sounds of the letters. Please find the class content in your child's book and follow the date. 5 : During the month of  Sep, students  will be learning about (5 Unit 1 ,Places in my Neighborhood ). Our unit includes multiple topics and vocabulary review. Students will receive multiple hand-outs that support the Arabic grammar and phonetics. Our new unit from the book (I Read Arabic) ( The Letter Jeem and Shaddah). This unit includes many topics that support the reading, writing and sentence production portions. We will be reinforcing a professional reading to the Arabic script along with the different shapes and sounds of the letters. This unit includes many topics that support the reading, writing and sentence production portions.  6 7: During the month of  Sep, students  will be learning about (6  Unit 1, I don't Feel Well). Our unit includes multiple topics and vocabulary review. Students will receive multiple hand-outs that support the Arabic grammar and phonetics. This unit includes many topics that support the reading, writing and sentence production portions. We will be reinforcing a professional reading to the Arabic script along with the different shapes and sounds of the letters. Please find the class content in your child's book and follow the date. " A flyer for this unit will be sent home and it is also attached below (6  Unit 1, I don't Feel Well)
 
8 : During the month of Sep,   students will be learning about (Unit 4, Topic 1, Our Health and Body)   from the Scuba Sequence created by MA State University and due to the Copy Rights, it can not be posted on a public Website. Therefor please find it with your child. Your child has been provided with transliteration for the vocabulary list for this topic, please find it in your child's packet. Also students are doing multiple activities to practice previously taught topic. Students are required to study every topics vocabulary at home.
