Larissa Schäfer is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
She holds a Ph.D. from Tilburg University (2015). During her doctoral studies, she has been a visiting scholar at Columbia University, Lancaster University, and Cass Business School as well as a consultant at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and a Junior Fellow of the European Banking Center at Tilburg University. She also received a Research Master degree from Tilburg University (2011) and a M.Sc. in International Economics (Diplom) from the University of Tübingen (2010).
Her research interests lie in empirical banking and international finance. In particular, she studies how bank business models, bank organizational structures and political uncertainty affect bank-firm lending relationships. Her work in international finance focuses on equity market integration and contagion in Central and Eastern European equity markets.
