    Welcome To My Website!

    Why I Have Chosen To Run For Ward 7 Councillor:

    • I feel it is my civic duty to make our communities better.  I have the background, accomplishments and vision to do more as your Councillor than as a resident of Ward 7.
    • I wish to provide the voters of Ward 7 with an alternative to the incumbent, promote discussion and debate, and increase voter participation in the upcoming election.
     My Successes
    • Solid education (BA in Political Science/Economics,  MBA in Finance) & work experience in the Financial Sector;
    • Recognized in the media for work on illegal pocket bike use, residential speeding & aircraft noise;
    • Established speed humps, less visible garbage & a Neighbourhood Watch Program in my community;
    • Initiated policies to update traffic-calming measures and better enforce garbage bylaws;

    My Promises:

    • Voluntary Maximum Two-Term Limit -- I have no intention of retiring a Councillor & will leave after 8 years
    • Give Back 20% Of My Salary To Ward 7 -- I am not running to be your Councillor for the money.  The funds would go to a worthy cause (all of us) and for projects in the Ward (decided by you)
    • Divide Ward Into Ten Separate Communities With Its Own Representative -- Each Representative would be part of a Ward 7 Committee, allowing residents and businesses to deal with issues community-wide or for all of Ward 7.
    • Respond To The Needs Of Residents & Businesses To Make Ward 7 Better -- I will be visible & available to communicate directly with all members of Ward 7.  Period.
    • A Councillor Newsletter Will Be Sent Semi-Annually And A Website Updated Regularly -- Councillors must communicate with their constituents regularly.
    • Establish A Ward Internship Program For University And College Students -- Everyone would benefit.

        Initiatives When Elected Councillor:

    • Community Festivals Across Ward 7 -- All 10 communities will benefit by showing their uniqueness
    • Put Together Joint Programs With Provincial & Federal Political Representatives In York West -- 3 heads are better than 1
    • Establish Toronto Ombudsmans Office -- Reporting directly to Toronto City Council, dealing with Staff & Processes
    • Full Transparency With Toronto BIAs -- Business Improvement Areas (BIA) to supply finances and projects at all times to City and residents
    • Eliminate Community Councils Altogether -- Existing structure is broken; leave decisions to more effective and diverse committees
    • Mandatory 3-Term Limit For Councillors (Grandfathered) -- New ideas require new blood and 12 years is enough time for Councillors to establish platform
    • Roll Back Councillor Salaries -- Recent raises were not necessary; limit raises to inflation
    • Bring Back Political Party System To Toronto --  Political parties provide a necessary check on candidates and has been successful in Vancouver

    My Vision:

    • Stronger Communities and Safer Streets begin by supporting the people and businesses who care and want to affect change -- It will be my priority to find and help them.
    • Identify and Update the Ward's "Quality Of Life" issues regularly, act on them progressively, and never tolerate existing problems that do not go away.
    • Stop Complaining and make Ward 7 a true partner in the growth and prosperity of a stronger Toronto and GTA.
    • Ensure Toronto Housing Properties are safe, diverse, well-maintained and its residents always live in dignity.
    • Help Youth By Encouraging Education/Training,  Provide Neutral Activity Spaces, Tolerate Their Exuberance And Ensure They Respect Our Communities And Our Laws
    • Increase Voter Participation Rates To 50% By 2014
