The purpose of this website is to assist teachers in the Schenectady City School District who wish to use the laptop carts to provide active, engaging, differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all our students.  We hope the resources on this site will empower you to begin using the laptops as a means of increasing student literacy and creating sophisticated student users of technology. 
 
Have fun with the laptops and remember to encourage your students to CREATE!
 
Every teacher who wishes to use the laptop carts is required to complete a 1.5-2 hour Laptop Orientation Session.

If you already attended an orientation session for the older model HP carts and you would like to use the newer Smart Cart with the external battery pack, you need to complete a brief refresher session.  

Session dates  and locations will be communicated throughout the year.

Laptop Information and Announcements

  • Using Outlook to Sign Up for Laptop Use
    All teachers who wish to use the laptops for classroom instruction must  use the Outlook public calendars to do so. Be sure you access the corresponding calendar for the cart you want to use in the Wireless Cart Schedules folder. Please contact standhartt@schenectady.k12.ny.us if you have any questions.

  • Keys to Carts
    Each person who houses a cart has a key. That key must be given to each person that signs the cart out.  Please be sure keys are in a secure area and not in site or in a place where it can easily be stolen.
