College Bus Trips/Overnight Programs

COLLEGE BUS TRIPS & OVERNIGHT PROGRAMS
Choosing a college is about finding the right fit—the right academic offerings, the right location, the right mix of people, and the right vibe. And, the only one who can decide if a college is right for you is YOU (not your sister, not your best-friend). For many students, the moment they discover that a college is right for them happens when they are visiting campus. Strolling college grounds, meeting students and faculty, visiting classes and residence halls - there's no better way to find out if you fit in. The best time to visit is on a weekday when classes are in session.

Below, is a list of colleges that will bus students from the Chicago area to Midwest college campuses.  For more information of college bus trips, visit the colleges' website.

Details: The Northwestern University Muslim Cultural Students Association (McSA) is hosting an annual McSA Wildcat Weekend, an overnight event for prospective Junior and Senior students. The event is scheduled for November 13th-14th and seeks to bring together students from across the Chicago-land area and introduce them to life as a McSA member. The program will give students deeper insight into campus life, both academically and socially. As part of our programming, students will receive a campus tour, sit in on a class, discuss majors with a panel of current undergraduates, eat at a dining hall, and participate in various activities with the rest of the McSA community. There will be an option for students who can’t stay overnight to leave in the evening. All the costs of the event will be completely covered (students are only required to bring a sleeping bag if they decide to stay overnight).

More information on the program:

The Fall 2014 High School Outreach Program is a three-day event where we invite 20 highly talented, diverse high school students from the Chicago land area to visit the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus. The purpose of this program is to inspire these high school students to attend our College of Business, thus increasing the diversity within our college. This endeavor is an effort from ALPFA Illinois members to give back to the community by sharing the knowledge and experiences members have gained. The agenda includes discussions on life as a college student, possible career paths, college application process and concerns, a case study, and real-world company presentations by our sponsors.

This event is completely FREE for the high school students. We will cover the cost of transportation, lodging, and food. Students applying for the program should be in their Junior or Senior year and have a strong interest in some type of business major. We ask that you please share this with students that may be interested. Applications will be evaluated based on GPA, ACT Score (if available), and question responses.
