the view as we sail into the Maui harbor

this sign welcomed us to the island

the view from on top of the extinct volcano back towards the harbor

the inside of the Haleakala crater was foggy, not the outside of the volcano, just the inside

next we went here

that same evening we attended an outside Luau

the dancers

the eaters!

and a shot of the fire dancer!

two of the hula girls...

sunset at the luau

the next day we visited this hidden village

this stream ran right down the middle of the valley

this valley has been inhabited for over 1500 years

this is taro, the staple plant of hawaii
