Goring not Boring:

This email has been received by Pastfinders; the Gorings have played a very significant part in the local history of the two villages.

"We are incredibly proud to say that ‘LIVES, LOVES AND LETTERS – THE GORING FAMILY OF WISTON, SUSSEX 1743-1905’ has finally been self-published, after 13 years of hard work and enjoyment.
We have pleasure in advising you of our website www.liveslovesandletters.co.uk as we are sure this lovely book will be of immense local and social interest to your members.
Featured in the WEST SUSSEX COUNTY TIMES, STEYNING/SHOREHAM HERALD (both front page) and shortly to feature in SUSSEX LIFE and ETC MAGAZINE, there has been huge interest in this unique book, composed of family letters received at Wiston House, and stored in a wooden estate box. It also contains diary entries and over 100 illustrations of sketchbooks and portraits.
We hope you enjoy reading about our book, which can be purchased online via the website, or by email.
With kind regards Janine Harvey [mailto:liveslovesandletters@gmail.com] "

"Penstone House and the Basque children" ~
The Blue Plaque is now in place.

Earlier this year, Alan Bradley gave us a fascinating talk and we wish him well with his very laudable efforts to get these children remembered by a blue plaque at Lancing Library.

We still feel it necessary to acknowledge the support of HLF and whilst keeping the logo have moved its position.
