HOT WAR is a 1970's themed you decide the scale Micro Game. Print color on 8 1/2 x 11 100% size. The idea was for something in between "Strike Force 1" and the old "Modern Battles" quads. Played the basic scenario a half dozen times on map A and B, using the "Advanced" rules. I'm Guessing the basic scenario plays in an hour tops between two players. Probably should call"Advanced Rules" Optional rules. Made some changes to the Basic rules (Main rules) as a result of play.
Changed the Combat results table adding some No Results. Changed AE from all attacking units to strongest attacking unit destroyed. clarified additive combat bonus applied after multiplying bonus. Clarified Infantry loses dug in if it moves or attacks. Requirement that retreating units pick the hex that would take the fewest MP's to enter.
Game Out comes
Generally NATO wins by retreating Soviet units out of towns on turn 6. However If I add a single Artillery unit to the Soviet OB Then the Soviets will usually kill an extra NATO unit making the above NATO strategy fail. Resulting in Soviet victory.
