The Lancaster Central Teachers Association is a union of educators dedicated to nurturing the learning and growth of the children in the Lancaster Central School District by providing an exceptional educational experience for our students. We advocate for our members and students to create a school environment that is progressive, effective, and safe. We eagerly and willingly serve our community and strive for the advancement of public education. Our mission is:

(1) To foster and support opportunity for professional advancement and growth.

(2) To foster and support opportunity for group expression on problems pertinent to educational interests.

(3) To foster and support teacher-community relations.

(4) To create in the community a larger and deeper sense of the dignity of the teaching profession and the importance of the interests it represents.

(5) To foster and support cooperation with civic and educational groups.

(6) To provide a means for carrying out charitable projects.

(7) To provide social activities.

(8) To foster and support opportunity for engaging in other activities which may be approved by vote of the Association.

(9) To promote the aims and objectives of the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT), and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) insofar as they are not inconsistent with those of this Association.
