Honey Extractor Available

Just a reminder that the LCBA has a two-frame, hand-crank extractor available for paid members to borrow. It requires a $30 deposit that is refundable when the extractor is returned clean and in good condition. Please contact Clem O'Rourke at 613-267-6314 if you would like to borrow this extractor.

Winter Meeting, 2017

Fall Meeting 2016

BEEKEEPING FIELD DAY 2016

The annual Beekeeping Field Day, hosted jointly by the Lanark County Beekeepers' Association (LCBA) and the Eastern Ontario Beekeepers' Association (EOBA), will be held on August 21, 2016, 10:00a.m.-3:00p.m., at Paul Lacelle's Apiary, 126 Spruce Drive, Carleton Place.
Everyone is welcome; new members can join either club and pay their membership dues at the field day.  Please see the attached newsletter (the Buzzette) for all the details.

Spring 2016 Meeting

The spring 2016 meeting of the LCBA will be held April 20, 7:00 p.m., at the Beckwith Community Centre, 1702 9th Line, Beckwith. Phil Laflamme will give a talk on starting hives from nucs and from splits. Dan Borges from the Tech Transfer team, and Paul Lacelle on behalf of the OBA, will be speaking about the small hive beetle. More details will follow in the Buzzette.

Notice of Workshop

Central Ontario Beekeepers is partnering with Farms at Work and Fleming College to present a 3-day workshop with Michael Bush on Treatment-Free Beekeeping from April 15 to 17, 2016.

2016 Winter Meeting

The winter LCBA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, at 7:00 p.m. at the Ferguson Falls' Community Hall. 
Paul Waenink will be talking about how he winters his bees, and Gordon Kubanek will share his experience with top-bar hives.
