Calling All Musicians

To promote community harmony at Lake Wylie by providing an opportunity

for musicians to share and promote their talents.

 

LOCATION

Mills Creek, between Pole Branch/ State Route 177, and Charlotte Highway SC 49. Call for directions. Approx 2.5 nautical miles north from Buster Boyd Bridge.


MEDIA

A good deal of marketing will be done for Lake Wylie Water Music @ Mills Creek and all artists involved will benefit from those efforts which include but are not limited to: website, e-news, Lake Wylie Pilot, print flyers, and word-of-mouth. This website will include a professional page for each performer with the capability for audio and video clips and the potential for sale of merchandise and booking information.


VENUE/ SOUND

Staging is on land at a private home. Audience will be on water in boats. Friends of the house party will be allowed on land but others are requested to enjoy from afloat.


A professional sound system will be employed for all events. As possible, it would be wonderful for musicians to involve the audience.  A sing-along portion of their performance involving participants in singing along with old folk songs, familiar contemporary tunes, fun and playful music of all kinds that folks will know! We’d like folks to hear and understand the lyrics and enjoy the full sound rather than be blasted with noise. 

SCHEDULE

Second Sundays in June, July, and August.  The event will start around 5pm (set-up at approx. 3 PM).  Dates are June 10, July 8, and August 12, 2012.

There will be boats anchored out in the cove, folks grilling out, swimming, drinking, and a generally free-spirited Summertime energy.  This event is early evening (5 - 7 PM), so the family-diverse feeling is important- and no foul language. Musicians will be expected to be charismatic, fun, able to energize a crowd.
