In response to COVID-19 safety guidelines, the physical layout will be revised for the upcoming election for the August 11th Primary and the November 3rd General Election.

Please consider voting Absentee Ballot.  It is easy to do in Minnesota.

Apply online at https//www.mnvotes.org or the St. Louis County website.

They will send an Absentee Ballot Application to you by mail to complete and you should mail it back to St. Louis County.

Due to COVID-19, you do not need to have a witness as part of the absentee ballot or mail balloting process.

Please make sure your voter information is complete on the signature envelope (name, address, ID number and signature).

Your returned ballot must be postmarked on or before Election day (August 11, 2020) and received by your county by the day before the county canvass, which may take place on the second or third day following the election.

You can keep track of your ballot status at: MNvotes.sos.state.mn.us/AbsenteeBallotStatus.aspx.

If you plan to vote in person at the town hall:

  • Please wear a cloth mask (if you forget, we will provide one).
  • Everyone will enter through the main doors and be directed to the registration tables.
  • Voting booths will be spaced out but you vote as usual and insert your completed ballot in the ballot counting machine.
  • Please exit through the back exit door.
The tables and voting machine surfaces will be sanitized throughout the voting process.  Hand sanitizer will be available for voters to use.

Are you a new voter to Lakewood Township?  You may see the Clerk during business hours to register.  Please bring an ID with your current address, or a utility bill with your name and current address, or a Lakewood Township registered voter who can vouch for you.
