To provide exceptional sports medicine services to the athletic programs at Detroit Lakes High School.     

1)  Educate individuals on sport specific injuries and their treatment. 
2)  Implement injury prevention techniques that have been documented in the literature.    
3)  Utilize evidence based research.  
4)  Incorporate functional and sport specific movements into the rehabilitation process.     

December 2016 - DLHS is the proud recipient of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Safe Sports School award for its athletics program. The award champions safety and recognizes secondary schools that provide safe environments for student athletes. The award reinforces the importance of providing the best level of care, injury prevention and treatment.  DLHS is honored to receive the 1st Team designation for acting on all recommended and required elements outlined by the NATA.  Detroit Lakes High School is also grateful to have received funding for this award through a grant from the Great Lakes Athletic Trainer’s Association (GLATA).
