Adult Sailing lessons will be offered on Saturdays beginning July 7 and running through August 25 (excluding July 28; the Triathlon closes East Shore Trail for most of the day).

Two and a half hour classes are available mornings 9:30 am – noon, or afternoons 1:30 pm  - 4:00 pm. The cost is $30.00 per class or $70.00 for a package of three classes.

Adults are usually proficient Sunfish sailors after 3 classes. The initial class includes a book on learning to sail, sailing terms, rigging and unrigging a Sunfish (LMYC owns eight Sunfish), and sailing including docking a Sunfish.  The second and third lesson involve rigging a Sunfish and sailing the Sunfish.

We ask that you bring a life jacket; shoes that you don’t mind getting wet (water shoes or old tennis shoes – no flipflops); a towel and a dry change of clothes. One of the topics covered is righting a capsized Sunfish.

Please let me know which sessions will fit you schedule, and any additional questions you might have.
