Streak Snapped

The Grays ended their losing streak on July 4th by defeating the Deerfield Demons 13-11. The Grays had a combined 12 hits. Tyler Zastrow, Adam Hosey, Hayden White, and Nate Keller each had multiple hits. White and Zastrow partnered in the pitching effort. The Grays close out the holiday weekend with games at Fort Atkinson and Cambridge (in Utica) on Sunday and Monday respectively. 

Losing Skid Extends

The Lake Mills Grays extend their current losing streak to 4 games with loses to Orfordville, McFarland, Cottage Grove, and Jefferson. During that stretch, a game vs. Albion was cancelled on 6/25 and will be played at a later date. The Grays have three games in the next week against Deerfield, Fort Atkinson, and Cambridge.

Lake Mills Defeated in Beloit

The Lake Mills Grays traveled to Beloit Friday night (6/14) to take on the Orfordville Orioles. The game tilted towards Orfordville in the 3rd inning, resulting in a 14-0 Orioles win. The Lake Mills Grays enter another Bye week. Two make-up games (Albion, Cambridge) are also coming soon.

Grays Drop Two Games (6/6 & 6/9)

The Lake Mills Grays experienced two rough outings in the past week. On Thursday, June 6th, the Grays fell to Sun Prairie 16-3 followed by a 10-0 loss to Fort Atkinson on Sunday, June 9th. Better luck next time.

Game Cancelled: 5/30 Albion @ Lake Mills

The game on Thursday, May 30th, 7:30pm Albion @ Lake Mills was cancelled due to weather. This game was rescheduled from May 9th and will have to be rescheduled at a later date. TBD.

Grays Get 2nd Win In A Row With a 4-3 Win Over Evansville

The Grays picked up their 2nd Sunday League game in a row on Sunday 4-3 over Evansville. Evansville jumped to a 3-0 lead over the first 5 innings. The Grays finally got on the board in the 6th when Travis Meyers hit an RBI single after Tyler Zastrow had a base hit and stole 2nd. The Grays got the bats going again in the 7th with a lead off double by Nick Dunkleburger, and a 2 run home run by Nate Keller to tie the game 3-3. The Grays then took the lead in the 8th that started when Zastrow reached on an error, Meyers followed him with a single, and Dunkleburger hit in the go ahead run with a RBI single. Billy Luetzow started the game and picked up no decision on the mound after chucking 6 solid innings. He had 4 strikeouts, 5 walks, on 4 hits, and giving up 3 earned (2 of them earned). Zastrow came in and picked up the win after throwing the last 3 innings. He had 3 strike outs, 0 walks, and allowed only 1 hit.

The Lake Mills vs Cambridge Thursday Night League game at Utica was cancelled due to rain. There has been no make up date set.

Grays Pick Up First Victory of Season Vs Deerfield 10-5

The Lake Mills Grays picked up their first win of the season in a 7 inning game (cut short by rain) 10-5 against Deerfield. A 5 run 5th inning was enough to break the tie and give the Grays the win. Travis Meyers went 2-2 on the day with a double and 2 RBIs. Tyler Zastrow also has a double in the game. Billy Luetzow picked up the win on 5 2/3 innings. He had 6 strikeouts on 6 walks, while giving up 8 hits and 5 earned runs. Luetzow also had 2 RBIs in the game. Lake Mills got to a slow start allow falling 3-0 after Deerfield strung a few hits together, but the Grays came back in the 2nd inning tying the game 3-3. The Grays then took the lead back in the 3rd 5-3, but Deerfield came back with 2 runs in the 4th. The Grays would then pick up the 5 runs to take the lead and keep it at 10-5. Thanks for all who supported us today. We hope to see you later in the week as we travel to Utica to play Cambridge in a Thursday Night League game, starting at 6pm.

Grays Lose 1st Night League Game 2-5 to Jefferson

A couple errors and a 3 run 4th inning hurt the Grays as they lost their first Night League game 2-5 on Thursday. The Grays tied the game in the 1st inning 1-1 on a lead-off walk and a stolen base by Billy Luetzow. They again fell behind and tied the game in the 3rd 2-2 when Tyler Zastrow hit a double and was driven in on a fielders choice by Travis Meyers. After all of that action the bats went silent and the strike outs started piling up, as the Grays were struck out 11 times total in the game by Jefferson pitcher, Ike Roth. Evan Yandre pitched all 7 innings allowing 5 total runs, 3 of them being earned. Yandre struck out 5 batters and walked 6 in the loss.
