Scrumptious poppy seed cake

Recepi from the blog Laka kuharica

250 g ground poppy seeds
200 g Muscovado sugar
500 ml milk
250 g flour
1 packet baking powder
100 g butter, cut into small pieces
1 whole egg
A little rum
½ cup raisins
Grated rind of 1 lemon
¼ tsp ground cinnamon

1. In a bowl mix poppy seeds and sugar. Stir in milk.
2. In a separate bowl combine baking powder and flour, add to the poppy seed mixture.
3. Add butter and egg, mix and blend until smooth.
4. Stir in rum, raisins, lemon zest and cinnamon
5. Pour the mixture into a buttered baking mold. Bake in the oven at 190ºC for 40 minutes or until done (trick with a toothpick).
6. Remove from oven, leave to cool and then remove from the mould onto a serving plate.
