Beef round steak with button mushrooms and vermouth

2 beef round steaks (about 300g)
Salt and black pepper
20g butter
100g button mushrooms, thinly sliced
3 tbs red vermouth
3 tbs cream
¼ tsp ground white pepper


1. Season the steaks with salt and black pepper.
2. Melt the butter over medium heat, cook the steaks in it for about 5 minutes on each side (or as desired). Take them out of the pan, set aside and keep warm..
3. Briefly simmer the mushrooms in the same butter, stir in vermouth and continue to simmer for few more minutes.
4. Stir in the cream, mix and combine with the mushrooms until the sauce is smooth and of medium density. Remove from heat.
5. Season with white pepper, add salt if necessary, pour over steaks and serve.
