Quick calamari

Quick, easy calamari, tender and tasty!

250ml peanut or sunflower oil
¼ cup corn flour
½ cup semolina
2 tsp salt
2 tsp paprika
1000g frozen squid, cut into 1cm rings

1. Heat the oil in a frying pan.
2. Put the corn flour, semolina and seasoning into a plastic freezer bag.
3. Add the squid rings and tentacles and then toss to coat.
4. When the oil is hot enough (when it sizzles up when you drop in a small cube of bread), fry the squid in batches to get the crunchiness. A couple of minutes per batch is all that is needed.
Serve immediately with homemade French fries, tartar sauce and green salad.
