Who We Are

We are an advocacy organization working to a improve gifted education in Louisiana by;

-educating parents and teachers on the rights to educational opportunities that their children have.

-working with individual parishes to implement policies that provide an appropriate education to all students.

-ultimately providing forums for both to meet and agree on actions toward forward progress.

It all started when Oprah Winfrey featured the documentary "Waiting for Superman" on her show along with Mayor of Newark Cory Booker, Governor of NJ Chris Christie, Geoffrey Canada, and founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg. The episode was very honest and inspiring ending with Mark Zuckerberg donating $100 million towards bettering the education system in Newark, NJ.  At the end of the episode all viewers were directed to go online and join a group called "Meetup." This group would bring together people across America who value education and want to work towards it's improvement. We are the "Meetup" group from Baton Rogue. We were strangers to each other who came together for a common cause and now are passionately working on improving education in Louisiana. This simple meetup has grown to our humble organization.
