The Lafayette Flute Choir

The Lafayette Flute Choir, Inc. was founded in 1974 and incorporated in 1978 to educate and promote interest in and appreciation of the flute family and its literature.  For over 40 years we have provided a continuing organization for ensemble flute playing and performance of music written specifically for the flute. We currently boast a roster of 30 active members ranging from serious high school students to retired music teachers.

A longstanding fixture in the Greater Lafayette, Indiana arts community, the Lafayette Flute Choir performs for community events such as the Lafayette and West Lafayette Farmers’ Markets, the Downtown Lafayette Gallery Walk and the Religious Arts Festival’s annual “Music of the Faiths” concert. We routinely play at area nursing homes, churches, weddings, and other private events.

The Choir performs a wide-ranging repertoire, including pieces from the 18th to the 21st centuries, and arrangements of music from baroque to jazz.  The Choir is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

We are always looking to grow our ensemble.  If you are interested in joining the flute choir, see New Member Information in the menu.
