Rules & Expectations

Rules
  • You must have an IHSAA physical, concussion, and cardiac arrest forms on file in the Athletic Directors office prior to participating in practice.
  • Follow the Crown Point High School Athletic Code of Conduct.
  • Anyone using alcohol, tobacco, or drugs will be dismissed from the team. These are not the type of athletes we want representing Crown Point High School Girls Cross Country.
  • All athletes are expected to attend all practices. Practice will begin promptly at 2:50pm.
  • Athletes may not participate in another non-school sport during cross country season.  Our season is demanding, and competing in another sport during the cross country season increase the risk of injury to an unacceptable level.
  • Bullying: intimidation of weaker person: the process of intimidating or mistreating somebody weaker or in a more vulnerable situation (definition). This type of behavior is unacceptable. This type of behavior can be used through text messages, social media, face-to-face, etc. If this type of behavior is present, the athlete will be removed from the team immediately.
  • All athletes must ride the team bus to and from all meets. The only exception is if Coach Moskalick and Mr. Dorulla approve a travel release form.  This must be submitted (and approved) prior to the event.

  • Parents will be notified in a timely manner of any rule violations.
  • Violation of team rules may result in being withheld from a meet or dismissal from the team
Expectations
  • Be respectful to teammates and coaches.
  • Achieve and maintain good academic standing.
  • Attend each class and be an active learner in all classes.
  • Be a positive influence to all.
  • Be a positive member in the community.
  • Respect all staff members at any educational facility and athletic facility.
  • Attend each practice and execute in all aspects of practice to the best of your ability.
  • Execute proper safety and courtesy at all practices and events.
  • Search for and accept new challenges.
  • Be a responsible user of social media sites.
  • Trust and believe in teammates, teachers, coaches, and administrators.
  • Follow all team and school rules before, during, and after practice, when in season and not in season.
  • Practice Policy - Returning athletes that did not participate in a spring sport must be able to complete 1 mile in 8 minutes or under in order to participate in practices.
  • Parents will be notified in a timely manner of any expectation violations.
  • Violation of team expectations may result in being withheld from a meet or dismissal from the team.
  • All athletes must be able to run a 5k under 29:00 minutes in order to be able to race during the regular season.  Athletes will have the opportunity to run a 5k at the Rotary Ramble. If the athlete is unable to attend the 5k they will be expected to run a 5k on the track. The time requirement is a safety precaution and determines if the athlete is capable of completing a 5k. If the athlete does not meet the time requirement they will have one opportunity each week to complete a 5k on the track and will need to be under 29:00 minutes.
