posted May 1, 2016, 4:39 PM by Coach Moskalick   [ updated May 1, 2016, 4:41 PM ]

Dear Athletes and Parents,

A special thank you to all of the parents who helped with the senior night. It was truly a wonderful evening and nice to be able to spend the time with those who attended. To our seniors, we wish you nothing but the best in your next journey (after graduation). :)

Princess Relay Recap
The lady bulldogs did a good job at the Princess Relays on Friday night. We finished 2nd to a very good Penn team who is ranked 9th in the state! Kristen LaCosse set the 300H record at the meet with a time of 45.08 along with being named princess of the meet. Our 4x800 broke 10:00 minutes (season best) and our 4x400 had a season best of 4:06. Hayley Krulik threw a season best of 34’6, Ruthie Luebcke ran a 12:05 in the 3200 (personal best) and 4x100 and 4x100 shuttle hurdles were both victorious (hopefully I didn’t leave any out :)

Email Update 3/13

Dear Athletes and Parents,

Maverick Invite Recap
The lady bulldogs did a fantastic job competing this weekend. We had 3 of the 4 relays winning overall (4x2, 4x8 and DMR) and Kristen LaCosse won the 55M Hurdles. Below is a link to the results. I believe we will have all 4 relays represented at the HSR Finals along with Kristen in the 60M Dash and 60M Hurdles. If this is the case, this will be the most we have ever qualified for the HSR Finals!! Go Bulldogs!

Physical Night
We will have our annual Physical night on Thursday, April 7th from 6-9 pm in the HS gym. I would recommend using this opportunity to get your physicals ready for next season.

Parent Club
Reminder to attend the Parent Club Meeting March 15 @ 5:30pm in the Community Room. I encourage all parents to attend this meeting so we can have a large group of supporters this season!

Spring Break
If you are planning on a spring break trip I will need parents to email me directly stating when they are going on spring break with departure date and return date. If you plan a day trip during spring break/practice time I encourage you to travel after practice. We will have practice Friday 3/25-Tuesday 3/29-Wednesday 3/30-Thursday we have a meet against Hanover Central @ 5pm.We will practice from 9am-11am on the other days..

If you are not at practice on Wednesday you will not be able to compete in the meet on Thursday. Also, if you are planning on being gone during all of spring break you will need to make sure you follow the workout plan assigned by your event coach. Every day you skip or miss will only set you further back in your training. On April 12 we have one of our biggest if not our biggest meet during the regular season against Lake Central and Merrillville-two teams who are highly competitive and very good. If we want to make a run at being one of the best teams in the region we ALL need to make sure we are doing our part.

Important Dates
·         Mar 15 (Tues) - Parent Club Meeting @ 5:30 in the Community Room
·         Mar 26 (Sat) - HSR Finals @ 2pm ET--We will know for sure who is competing after 3/21
·         Apr 15 (Fri) - Dog Tail Affair (Youche @ 7:00pm)

Email Update 3/6

posted Mar 7, 2016, 11:03 AM by Coach Moskalick

Dear Athletes and Parents,

Indian Open Recap
We had a great first meet this weekend at the Indian Open. Congratulations to all of the ladies who competed. This is going to be an exciting season for the Lady Bulldogs and I hope all parents and athletes are ready to show their support! Results will be posted on the website within the next 24 hours.

Attendance
Again, I wanted to reiterate the importance of communicating with me and your event coach about absences.  When practice starts at a certain time you are expected to be there at least 10 minutes before the start time (if I say 8am practice that means you need to be here at 7:50 at the latest) I will start exactly at 8am. That goes with bus departures. If you do not make the time for when the bus leaves you will be left behind and unable to compete. If you are more than 15 minutes late to practice this will be considered an unexcused absence and you will be asked to leave practice (along with sitting out a meet). If I receive an email after practice has concluded I consider this an unexcused absence. If you know you will be missing practice you need to communicate this ASAP.

Maverick Invite
This meet will be held at Purdue University at 10am (ET). The girls will know who is competing after Monday’s practice. The bus will be leaving at 6am. If you are competing please make sure to be doing the “small things” this week (sleeping 8-9 hours, avoiding unhealthy food, drinking water, stretching, icing and etc).  There will be an itinerary provided to the girls after Wednesday.

Physical Night
We will have our annual Physical night on Thursday, April 7th from 6-9 pm in the HS gym. I would recommend using this opportunity to get your physicals ready for next season.

Important Dates
Mar 12 (Sat) - Maverick HSR Invite @ 10am
Mar 15 (Tues) - Parent Club Meeting @ 5:30 in the Community Room
Apr 15 (Fri) - Dog Tail Affair (Youche @ 7:00pm)

Extra Mile Spike Night and Other Updates

posted Mar 1, 2016, 11:41 AM by Coach Moskalick

Just wanted to remind eve
ryone about the Spike Night at the Extra Mile in Valparaiso (6:30-8:0pm).  If your daughter is in need of new training shoes and/or spikes this would be a great time to get them.

We have our first meet coming up on Saturday March 5. The bus will be leaving at 8am--all those competing need to meet in the fieldhouse by 7:50am. If you are not on the bus by 8am we will be leaving without you. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10am. Those competing will receive a meet itinerary on Friday. I will be giving out the new uniforms on Friday. If you are competing and will be returning your old uniform I will be collecting those on Friday.

Those not competing but are on the Saturday practice list--ALL practices for ALL events will be held at 7am due to the meet. You are expected to be in the fieldhouse (rolling out/stretching) at 6:50am.

Parent Club Meeting

posted Feb 24, 2016, 7:52 AM by Coach Moskalick

We will be having a parent club meeting on March 15 @5:30pm in the Community Room.

What’s the parent club? It’s a great opportunity for parents to get involved in what their daughter does during track season.

What all does the parent club do? Organize pasta parties, create locker decorations, help with senior night and more importantly show their support for the girls on the team J

If you are interested please do your best to attend the meeting on March 15th.

As a coach, I’d like to see as many of the parents involved as possible. The girls will really appreciate to see their parents help out and I’d like for our track team (athletes and parents) to be looked at as a supportive community.
