Ladbroke Calendar - illustrated by Photography Club members

We are a small friendly club whose aim is to promote photography as a hobby by encouraging and enabling our members to improve their skills as photographers. We meet monthly, usually on the 1st Tuesday evening of the month (but there are exceptions). Our programme includes lectures, demonstrations, workshops, competitions etc.

The club started in October 2010, meetings have been a great success with a real upsurge in numbers recently. There are now 15- 20 coming along each month. Since we started we've had a wide range of activities including:
  • talks by members
  • outings to the Cotswold Falconry Centre, a Polo Match, Hatton Locks & Baddesley Clinton and The Garden of Heros & Villains
  • a portraits workshop led by professional photographer Angela Neale
  • talks by several professional photographers including Russell Griffith (of Prestige Photography), Rusty Aldwinckle, Peter Alvey and Sue Dudley
  • informal competitions on various topics
  • tutorials, discussions and practical sessions on topics such as what makes a good picture, camera settings, computer manipulation, abstract photos, close ups, action shots.
The club has exhibits members pictures each year either here in the village or at the John Turner festival in Southam. We have produced several calendars of local views.

Membership, which covers attendance at all the monthly meetings for the year costs £20 and if you just want to come along and see what we are about for a couple of evenings, we ask visitors to pay a £2 attendance fee per meeting. Children under 16 are welcome as members or visitors, at half-price, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
