2019 Joint Liberal Arts Colleges Development Economics and Economic History Conference

We are happy to announce the 2019 joint meeting of the Liberal Arts Colleges Development Economics Conference (LACDev) and Economics History Workshop will be held at Colby College on October 18 and 19, 2019. We welcome submissions in any aspect of Development Economics or Economic History (i.e. not exclusively papers at the intersection of the two).


2019 Conference:

Location: Colby College, Waterville, Maine

Dates: October 18 and 19, 2019

Keynote Speaker: Nathan Nunn, Frederic E. Abbe Professor of Economics, Harvard University

Submission Deadline: August 1, 2019 – send submission to lacdevconference@gmail.com

  • Extended abstracts (1,000 words max) for research-in-early-stages session
  • Please indicate in the subject of your email the type of submission (full paper or extended abstract).

Notification of Acceptance: August 23, 2019

Logistics: There is no conference fee. Funding for this year’s conference is provided by Colby College. Lodging will be provided for all presenters (if the budget allows we may be able to defray lodging costs for discussants and other conference participants).
