WHALE WATCHING
One of the highlights of any trip to Baja is January to March, the season when the California Gray Whales head south to the San Ignacio Lagoon to calve. Guides use small boats called pangas, allowing you to to touch whales.
THE SAN IGNACIO LAGOON San Ignacio, located 1.5 hours south, is an oasis boasting 100,000 date palms lining the river, a church built out of volcanic rock, a local museum and a great plaza.....there is a new hotel LA HUERTA, inexpensive and clean. Follow the road past the mission church. It will be on your right, a little set in off the road. We highly recommend the restaurant there, even if you are not staying at the hotel.
INDIAN ART CAVE PAINTINGS
Cave Paintings: many locations offer breathtaking views in very remote areas of Baja. The easiest to get to is Cueva del Raton (Cave of the Rat), which can be reached by car easily from La Bocana.
AND MORE:

KITESURFING / WINDSURFING - For pro's only, at the entrance to La Bocana when the wind howls just for you ... Springtime
