Katrina Connell was awarded a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship to conduct her dissertation work at Peking University in Beijing, China for 6 months starting in September 2015. While in China, she will be working on advanced L2 learners' use of tone in word recognition.
Zhen Quentin Qin was awarded a 24-month dissertation improvement grant from the National Science Foundation, Linguistics Program (PI: Dr. Annie Tremblay; co-PI: Dr. Jie Zhang). Details can be found here.
Zhen Quentin Qin was awarded with Gösta Bruce Memorial Fund scholarship to attend the 18th International Congress of Phonetic Sciences (ICPhS 2015), Glasgow.
Zhen Quentin Qin won the Best Student Paper award in Speech Communication for his presentation at the Fall 2013 Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America (San Francisco, December). Title: "Effects of native Mandarin dialect on English learners' use of prosodic cues to stress." (Qin, Z., & Tremblay, A.)
Annie Tremblay was the recipient of a 42-month research grant from the National Science Foundation (co-investigators: Dr. Mirjam Broersma; Dr. Taehong Cho; Dr. Sahyang Kim; Dr. Elsa Spinelli). Details can be found here.
