  1. There will be no school on this day in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 18th.

February 8, 2016

  1. DUE FEBRUARY 16, 2016.  Use your notes you took during the video. Email or share your Google doc to nmaquino@cps.edu.
  2. Definite human rights in your own words.
  3. Choose 5 human rights from #1-10. Write them down.
  4. Give a real-life example (past five years to present day) for each one you chose. You must provide the following for EACH one:
    1. The human right typed out.
    2. Summary
    3. The source 
      1. If it's a website, copy and paste the address AND the date you retrieved it. Websites must be valid news sources. Wikipedia should not be used as a source EVER during Model UN.
      2. If it's a newspaper article - give the date, the title, and the name of the newspaper
      3. If it's a news program - copy and paste the link and the date you retrieved.

DUE March 11, 2016: Country Profile.  
  1. If you are logged into your CPS email while you are looking at this page, you should be able to click here to download the questions.  
  2. You can also go to the Resources tab at the top to take you to sites that will help you find answers.
  3. EACH person must email or share with me (nmaquino@cps.edu) the country profile.
  4. Answers must be in complete sentences IN YOUR OWN WORDS - not your partners' words, not the author's words...YOUR OWN WORDS. Failure to write in your own words results in a zero.

  • DUE March 24, 2016:  Annotated packet and Questions to Consider answers.
  • Turn in your annotated packets if you have not already by Thursday (3/24/16)morning.
  • Answer the questions to consider by Thursday (3/24/16) morning.  Answer all questions in respect to your ASSIGNED country.
  • I shared electronic copies of the background guides with all you two or three weeks ago.  You can use those to answer the questions.  
  • Go to Google Drive and on the left hand side, look for Shared With Me.  You will find your background guide there.

  • DUE March 24, 2016:  Annotated packet and Questions to Consider answers.
