Take and plant a shade tree or plant   

If you would like to plant one of the available donated shade tree saplings or one of the available donated shade tolerant plants, please contact roman@lavistaparkshade.org for an appointment to pick it up.  You must be a LaVista Park resident.  If you need help transporting it and having it planted, please let us know.  


Donate a shade tree or plant

If you have a small shade tree growing in your yard that you don't want, small enough that a single person can dig it up, please donate it to this exchange.  If you need help digging it up and transporting it here, please contact roman@lavistaparkshade.org  for an appointment.

Also, if you have any shade tolerant plants growing in your yard that you don't want, please donate them to this exchange.

We are currently seeking donations of:

  • ferns of all sorts
  • cast iron plants
  • woodland hydrangeas of all sorts
  • nandinas
  • mahonias
  • hostas of all sorts
  • azaleas of all sorts - especially native azaleas
  • camelias and sasanquas
  • Rose Creek abelias
  • any other woodland or shade tolerant plants

    * please note that we do not accept any financial donations; only woodland plants, shade trees, and rarely labor.
