Houston based pianist Kyle Evans, has been heard on Houston Public Media, and at venues such as The Rothko Chapel, The Miller Outdoor, The MFAH, The Dallas Museum of Art and The Sage Theatre in NYC. He has performed with HGO Co.‘s Opera to Go! and in numerous school productions and churches as guest artist. Frequently premiering new music, in a recent performance of Dominick DiOrio's Klytemestra with Divergence Vocal Theatre, The Houston Press said he played “with rich insight and emotional wallop.” He is also featured on the recent recording of Selkie, by composer Elliot Cole available on iTunes. Kyle received degrees from Oklahoma City University where he won the school’s concerto competition and from Rice University where he studied with Brian Connelly.
Kyle is also a third generation piano technician and helps maintain the 120 practice room, teaching studio and concert pianos at the Shepherd School of Music. Kyle has also enjoyed working with younger pianists for about 15 years.
Besides pianos, Kyle is passionate about veganism and is a Boston marathon qualifying marathoner and daily bicycle commuter.
