My interests are in the fundamental understanding of protein self- and complex- assembly. I have framed this in the context of membrane interacting and remodelling proteins in cellular trafficking. Recently I have become interested in nucleotide-protein interactions and am pursuing avenues that unite these interests.

I have a particular interest in cryo electron microscopy, computational image processing and single molecule methods for structure determination.

The link between molecular architecture, assembly and macromolecular morphology is fascinating. Understanding structurally and mechanistically how multimerisation produces physiologically important assemblies develops our understanding of normal and pathological processes. Further, this research will advance our ability to manipulate and even design such systems.
