I am a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Economics at Duke University.  I completed my D.Phil. (Ph.D.) in the Department of Economics at the University of Oxford, where I was affiliated with the Centre for the Study of African Economies.  I am also a visiting faculty member at the Lahore School of Economics and at the Lahore University of Management Sciences, and a Fellow of the Center for Economic Research in Pakistan and the Consortium for Development Policy Research in Pakistan. 

Previously, I worked on research and policy outreach on foreign aid, trade and development at the Center for Global Development and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, DC.

My research interests include how interventions by government and donors interact with local social and political context; public service delivery in developing countries; urban policies, particularly public transportation and land use; and women's empowerment.
