Carl Peterson
November 10, 2017

Carl PetersonBorn and raised in Greenock, Scotland, on the banks of the River Clyde, a Carl Peterson performance is best described as a warm, everyone-involved, familiar evening-at-home experience with traditional songs of Scotland, Ireland, and England, as well as contemporary music. A performance by Carl Peterson, whether for a few thousand people or for a few dozen, is best described as a warm, everyone-involved, familiar evening-at-home experience. And home is where Carl Peterson was first introduced to music and song. He learned the traditional songs of Scotland, Ireland, and England, as well as contemporary music of the times, from family and friends alike. After learning to play guitar and banjo, Carl added American folk songs and storytelling to his repertoire, and took it all from Scotland to Canada, then later to America, via radio and television. "One man. One guitar. One incredible concert!"  carl-peterson.com/index.html

Reminiscent of John Hartford and armed with 2 guitars, baritone vocals, claw-hammer banjo, and fiddling, singing, and flat-footin clog-dancing, he serves his audience an "acoustic buffet" of traditional American and original folk, old time mountain music, bluegrass and gospel tunes, as well as coal mining songs of Northeast Pennsylvania. Original and "covered" guitar instrumentals garnish this plate of cultural cuisine. New CD titled Giving Back-Atribute to My Peers is now available on his website: jaysmar.com
