Kuala Lumpur, the economic powerhouse of  Malaysia

has grown into a city of  over 4 million people , with  gleaming skyscrapers and a bustling city life.  It is the natural gateway into Malaysia for most foreigners embarking from the Kuala International Airport ( KLIA ).

CHARACTER

While eminently  modern   KL still retains plenty of character as old colonial buildings stand out proudly in the center of town,.

Chinatown , Kg Baru ( Malay Kampong ) & Little India with their street vendors and night markets in the heart of the city is as vibrant as any dynamic city anywhere.

MONUMENTS, GARDENS &  EATERIES

Some notable monuments include  the national mosque or Masjid Negara, whose unique modern design embodies contemporary style, together with traditional Islamic Art, calligraphy and ornamentation.

Across the national mosque is the historic KL train station, and further west is KL’s 'green' belt, where one can find the Lake Gardens, National Museum and Monument and the Malaysian Parliament.

KL is also gaining a long overdue recognition as an international  gastronmical centre with its flavorful Malay , Chinese and Induian cuisines.
