KRISTIAN KRISTIANSEN

I am an entirely self-taught Scottish artist who has enjoyed drawing and painting from my early school days. For many years my wife and I owned a Crafts & Collectables shop in the West Highlands of Scotland, and during that time I worked in a variety of arts and crafts fields. More recently we relocated to my wife’s family seaside cottage in Maine. Now semi-retired, I am enjoying my return to landscape oil painting, with the views from our windows overlooking Portland Head & Ram Island lighthouses and the islands of Casco Bay providing endless inspiration. My love of the Scottish Highlands, its ancient history, ruined Castles, dramatic mountains and deep lochs continues to be a theme in my art. My range of work presently includes a Maine series and a Scottish series of original landscape oil on canvas paintings, three sizes of originally signed, ‘ready to frame’ matted color prints, color note cards, and original pen & ink drawings. Although I no longer run my own retail outlet, and enjoy the e free time it affords me to concentrate on my art, I will always consider the interaction and input from meeting the public an essential and very enjoyable part of what I do, and will continue to participate at local venues.
