This website is about the relationship between 'the inner' and 'the outer'. This issue can only be understood when we are also familiar with Krishnamurti's teachings about 'the inner' and nature. For those interested in understanding these issues in order to make it easier to understand the issues described on this website; there are some links in this section of the website.
A. The 'inner'
The following books are a good introduction:
- A wholly different way of living.
- Freedom from the known.
Those studying these books with a purpose to understand the website; it is better to use 'Freedom from the known' because there are more issues related to the relationship between 'the inner' and 'the outer' mentioned in this book.
Finally, the holistic reader is also a very good way to become familiar with the teachings about 'the inner'. The holistic reader relates the issue of 'the inner' to 'the outer' as well. It is advisable to go through more than one series of talks if this is pursued.
Nature is a part of Krishnamurti’s teachings not often looked at. The reasons are obvious: it is difficult to comprehend and not easy to talk about in discussion groups. However, there is no doubt that it is essential to understand our relationship with nature. If we don’t have a relationship with nature then we cannot have a relationship with human beings. The other reason is that a lack of relationship with nature partly explains our violent nature. As with other parts of the teachings it is important to understand it before taking it on board. It should become a living reality rather than an abstract assertion by Krishnamurti. It is obvious that this part of the teachings cannot be understood without going to natural surroundings. Finally, the issue of climate change should also be looked at when trying to comprehend our relationship with nature.
