Kristofer Arreguin's Lego Library
Lego Pieces for Autodesk Inventor

The Lego Library is in IPT and IAM file format. If you do not have Autodesk Inventor you can still open the files in Autodesk Inventor View. Autodesk Inventor View is a free program from Autodesk that lets you look at Autodesk Inventor parts and assemblies without editing them.

NOTE: If you already have Autodesk Inventor software installed on your computer, DO NOT install Autodesk Inventor View. Usually, Autodesk Inventor View is part of the Autodesk Inventor installation package and you do not need install it again.

  • Kristofer Arreguin's Lego Library - Version 1 Created by Kristofer Arreguin with Autodesk Inventor 2009
The Lego Library includes all the pieces from Lego Mindstorms RCX 1.0 or 1.5 with some additional pieces that might be useful. The Lego Library can be downloaded as a ZIP file from the corresponding link above.

This Library was made from the LDraw data found in the LeoCAD software by the following method:
  1. Export as a 3DS file from LeoCAD
  2. Import into AutoCAD Mechanical and export as IGES
  3. Import into Autodesk Inventor
  4. Use the IGES import as a reference and recreate the part in a new IPT file
NOTE: Because the Lego Library was made using the LDraw data as a reference, units may or may not be reliable. As long as the Lego parts are relative to each other, units do not matter. However, if one uses a part outside of the Lego Library in an assembly using parts from the Lego Library, Lego parts may appear bigger or smaller than they really are. This is true for the NXT Package as well. This will be resolved in the next version.
  • Kristofer Arreguin's Lego Library NXT Package - Version 1 Created by Kristofer Arreguin with Autodesk Inventor 2009
This is an update to the Lego Library. This package includes the Lego Mindstorms NXT pieces, mainly the electronics. The NXT Package can be downloaded as a ZIP file from the corresponding link above.
NOTE: The parts found in this package are not perfect in terms of being identical to their real counterparts. However, the parts cause no problems for modeling/assembly. These defects will be corrected in Version 2.
