Get Organized for the New Year with a Personalized Calendar

Students can use Web sites and software programs to make their own personalized calendars for the new year to help themselves keep track of important dates and deadlines.

Online tools for making personalized calendars

 

Most basic:

 

time and date.com Users select a year and can choose a country. Holidays and observances can be customized. Choose Advanced Customization to change the calendar’s appearance (number of months, columns, font size, languages). Print out.

Incompetech Free Online Calendar PDF Make a month per page PDF calendar with options for sizes and layout (landscape or portrait orientation). Print out.

Other calendar sites allow users to insert images, such as My Calendar Maker Users need to register to create an account (free). Only .jpg images (maximum 6.0 MB) can be uploaded from a computer with optional captions. Calendars are saved online and can be edited. Users can type in other holidays and important dates. Print out.

Theme Calendars

Students can customize their personalized calendars with pictures organized around a theme, and themes for calendars are endless. The following list will give students ideas.

 

  • Family
  • Favorite travel, vacation spots
  • Places you have lived or would like to visit
  • Nature scenes of a state, country
  • Favorites (places, food, celebrity, animal, artists, etc.)
  • Fashion, music, technology, etc., over the years (1900s, 1910s, 1920s, etc.)
  • Holidays associated with each month
  • Best or worst jobs
  • Admirable people, heroes
  • Famous quotes or proverbs illustrated with an appropriate image
  • Important architecture, historical events, architecture, or inventions
  • World records
  • Funny, strange happenings
  • Natural phenomena
  • Wonders of the world
  • World currency, flags, or ancient sites
