Information about the assessment of new Common Core State Standards in Math will be added to this page as it becomes available from the NJ Department of Education.  The Common Core Standards for Mathematics were adopted in June 2010.

The NJ Department of Education implementation schedule required school districts to being the implementation of curricula that are aligned with these new standards with the goal of completion by 2014.  Kinnelon Public Schools has revised the K-2 and Algebra in grades 8 & 9 in the summers of 2010 and 2011 and plans to revise additional core math curricula for grades 3-5 and 10-12 in the summer of 2012.  Remaining curricula for grade 6-8 will be revised in the summer of 2013.  The timeline meets the current NJ DOE timeline for CCCSS math implementation.

All students taking Algebra I in 2011-2012, regardless of grade level, must sit for the Algebra I end of course competency assessment. We anticipate that this will be the last year for this assessment as the NJ Department of Education has partnered with a new test vendor.  Any information with regard to the replacement test for the Algebra I will be posted here as soon as it is released.
