The project is funded by the Academy of Finland (2019 - 2023).
The project has three subprojects. First, we examine competition in the healthcare market, through analysing the effects of freedom of choice reforms and hospital mergers. Second, we examine competition for the market trough an analysis of outsourcing and procurement in healthcare. Third, we analyse the division of labour between the public and private sector in healthcare. We examine differences in incentives and behaviour between physicians in the two sectors.
We are organising a workshop on “Competition and incentives in healthcare”, on Fri 12th Nov 2021, Helsinki.
