I first got the vision to create this website in the winter of 2011. I lead worship and it is nice to get the chance to learn songs and practice them in keys that fit my voice. I did not create this website because I only want to listen to music led by women. I love worshipping God and being led into His presence by anyone, male or female, adult or child, black or white, Spanish or English speaking, etc., etc., etc. My focus in having this website is to make it easy for people to quickly find quality worship music that happens to be led by women. Many people know about Darlene Zschech, Brooke Fraser, CeCe Winans, Kathryn Scott, Kim Walker-Smith, Misty Edwards, Christy Nockels, and Rita Springer but maybe have never heard of Laura Woodley Osman, Isa Agape (Couvertier), Laura Hackett, Mandy Miller of Bigstuf Band, Tifah Philips, Amber Dawn Wilson, Joanna (Rayburn) May, Diana Waddell and a slew of others. It just seemed like there was a dearth of information available in one place. I had to trek all over the internet to find the names of some women who were making really quality worship music but who were apparently only known in certain circles. I felt led to make this website so that more people can become exposed to these women of God pouring their hearts out to Him.
So, with that said, I am posting a google docs alphabetical list of women worship leaders here on this site. As I get the opportunity, I will try to make it so that there will be links to the worship leaders' websites or some other sites that give information about them. Please send me comments through facebook if you know of other women worship leaders that I can add to the list to make it more comprehensive. There are tons of leaders out there that I have never had a chance to listen to so I need your help to make this site what it is truly meant to be. Please check out my links on the left hand side of the top of the pages. I am adding a lot of useful information there. Please like us on facebook and share our page with people who would be interested in getting exposed to gals who lead worship.
Here is the link to our facebook pagehere that you can visit and like and receive status updates about female worship leaders and refreshing new songs.
Also, here are two resources that I think are on the right track to helping women worship leaders be the best they can be for God's glory. Check them out if you have time. "Rise Up and Sing" - Lex Buckley wrote a book to give advice to women who lead worship. Dive Worship - It is my dream to get to learn from Rita someday at the worship school she created for female worship leaders.
