Koospem Lodge, Vermont

Koospem Lodge in the scenic Champlain Valley
Koospem Lodge is located in the mid Champlain Valley town of Addison.   It is on a nicely landscaped, level property, adjacent to a farm, and it features scenic views of Lake Champlain and of the Adirondack Mountains.  Conveniently located 5 miles north of the Crown Point Bridge, it is only 12 minutes drive to Basin Harbor, 20 minutes to Middlebury, 35 minutes to Burlington, or 45 minutes to Mad River Glen and Sugarbush.   Ticonderoga and Port Henry are just across the lake in New York.  Amtrak stops in Port Henry, where there is daily train service between New York City and Montreal.
To the west, a spectacular sunset may be seen over Lake Champlain with the Adirondack Mountains as a backdrop. To the east you may watch an equally spectacular sunrise over the Green Mountains of central Vermont.

Koospem is very comfortable, and sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed.  A futon sleeps an additional 1 or 2 persons. There is a spacious dining area, a large living room with a cathedral ceiling and gas fireplace, 1/1/2 baths, sliders to the deck, and a screened porch.  The kitchen is equipped with electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, pots and pans, dishes and utensils. We have TV, and local phone service.

Koospem Lodge is only 5 minutes from the beach and is located directly on the Champlain Bikeway, a 363 mile bicycle route around the entire lake.  In addition to biking, you will find good hiking, swimming, canoeing and kayaking, skydiving, birding, fishing, tennis, golf, museums, and good restaurants. Try some Blueberry Wine at the nearby Charlotte Village Winery, or play a round of golf followed by dinner at The Basin Harbor Club, only 12 minutes away. The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum is also a 12 minute drive.

Within a half hour drive there are 5 state parks, a wildlife refuge, and the Green Mountains.  A climb to the top of nearby Snake Mountain  gives you an awesome view of the south half of Lake Champlain.  In autumn, a short drive in any direction brings you to the great foliage views.
Nearby cultural events can be found in the college towns of Middlebury and Burlington. Vergennes is home to the Vergennes Opera House, and Westport NY is home to the Depot Theater.  Burlington has a  wide variety of cultural events and boasts The Church Street Marketplace, a pedestrian mall.
The historical sites of Ticonderoga, Crown Point, and Fort Independence are within a short drive. Lake Placid or Montreal is an easy day trip from Koospem.
At Koospem Lodge, you have your choice of  outdoor activities, good nearby restaurants, local arts and crafts and homegrown food.  Or you may just prefer to relax with a good book and view the lake, or watch the bluebirds in the backyard if they are in their nest boxes.
Koospem is pet free, and guests are requested to refrain from smoking. Included are blankets and pillows, but you should provide your own sheets, pillowcases, and towels.

You can enjoy a special vacation  here, where an overscheduled world of deadlines, meetings, mortgages, and traffic jams does not exist.  Many of our guests have returned more than once.

The rental rate for the 2016 season is $995 weekly, or $1850 for a two week period.  There is a refundable security deposit of $200.
