Kodokan Aikido at Gobblerfest, Sept. 8 4p - 7p

posted Sep 1, 2017, 9:07 AM by Nadine Edwards

Gobblerfest is an annual festival and is VT's largest organization promotional event; members, we need you!
Kodokan Aikido will have a booth at the event and will be doing some informal drills and practice (rolling, jo/ken tsuburi, jo kata, other techniques) near our booth.

We need help with setup, purchase of items, practice, and manning the booth.

We'll be having some pizzas after the event, so don't forget to indicate whether you are interested in dinner on the signup form.

Starts Today -- Take the Fifteen Class Challenge - Fall 2017

posted Sep 1, 2017, 7:48 AM by Nadine Edwards

What is the Fifteen Class Challenge?
Very simply, The Fifteen Class Challenge is committing to taking every class Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday for a specific period. This semester's challenge starts on Tuesday, September 5th and ends on Tuesday, October 17.

The Challenge for this period can be customized to an extent** -- usually only come once a week?  Come twice a week.

Why take the Fifteen Class Challenge?
To challenge where you are in your Aikido. This commitment is as personal as your Aikido journey. Maybe you've been wanting to improve your fitness and endurance; maybe you just want to see how much you can do; or maybe you want to do more Aikido but haven't really had any motivation until now.

Bu..bu..but Tuesday, Thursday, AND Saturday?!? I don't know, that seems like a lot...

It's supposed to seem so, that is why it is called a challenge. The good news is that we are in this together. The dojo is here, your fellow Aikidoka are here, and we will roll together and encourage you along, every step of the way.

Alright, Im'ma do it; where do I sign up?
Check in with Nadine any time this week before or after class or via email. Let her know specifically what your challenge will be if you are customizing.

Start Today!

**As mentioned with the recent announcement, student members who signup for and meet the challenge by participating in all classes 9/5 (Tue) to 10/17 (Tue) are eligible for a rebate on dues.
