Post date: Jul 11, 2012 1:39:39 PM

Father John,Worthy District Deputy,Worthy State Warden,Brother Knights,Columbiettes,Family and Friends here tonight. You will have to excuse me for I am in a state of shock and a lost for words right now and It has nothing to do with me becoming Grand Knight or standing here in front of everyone. No. It has to do with you asking me to come up here to speak. Usually I am being ask to be quite, stop talking and sit down. So now you understand why I'm in shock a little bit.

But All Kidding aside, I Thank everyone for being here tonight. I would like to take this opportunity to Thank each of my Brother Knights for electing me to be your Grand Knight for the up coming year. It is a Great honor to be grand Knight of this council but I feel Proud to know that you my Brother Knights have the confidence in me to lead our council. I will give the council nothing less then 100% of myself to ensure that we continue to grow and have the successes that we have had in the past. With your continuing support I know we will be successfull in the future.  United ,there is little we cannot do in a host of cooperative ventures. Divided, there is little we can do--for we dare not meet a powerful challenge at odds and split asunder.

So, in conclusion my Brother Knights, If President John F. Kennedy were here tonight, perhaps he would say something like: Ask not what your council can do for you-----ask what you can do for your Council.  My Brother Knights of the world, ask not what the Knights of Columbus will do for you, but what together we can do for mankind.

With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the Knights we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own. Thank you.

God Bless America.

Joe DeLuca Jr.

Grand Knight,

Our Lady of Peace Council # 11378
