Our new courts are in full operation now and are fantastic !!! The Handicap Tournament on Saturday November 14th will be our first big event on the new courts so even if you can’t play on the day (sign up with Mark), pop down for some tea and cake.
We're planning a media launch on Tuesday 24th November that will coincide with Club Night, so our visitors can see the courts getting used (weather permitting!). So please put the date in your diaries and hopefully we can get some play and show off our club to the local community. We may even have a chairmen’s 4 on the night, so Sally, Steve and Ken be warned.!!
We are now able to offer a range of KTC branded clothing through a company called IPROSPORTS. The cost of the clothing is very competitive and the tennis club receives a small percentage of the price to go towards our court refurbishment fund. The attached link will take you straight to the KTC section of the Iprosports website. http://www.iprosports.co.uk/club-zone/knutsford-tennis-club/
We had a visit on Tuesday from the Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne who came to see how the IF grant is being spent and to meet Mark and the kids on his camp. There were security checks beforehand and a small cavalcade of heavy 4 wheel drives. He had a good chat to everybody and was with us for about 20 minutes. There were lots of photos and there should be a story in the Knutsford Guardian next week, giving good PR for the club.
Knutsford Little Theatre are hosting a preview night to support our tennis court fund. Full details are attached.
A great time had by all at the Pimms and Strawberries club night tonight, which despite the rain attracted a record turn out. See photos of the evening and Debs' amazing outfit HERE.
Congratulations to Debs who won the 'best dressed' prize for her Serena Williams look alike !!
Please book in advance to avoid disappointment as places on certain camps are limited. You can email Mark to reserve a place and pay on line if you prefer. Alternatively, fill in the booking form and return it to to the address provided.
Many thanks to Lou, Sally and all the helpers yesterday, the weather forecast was terrible and yet it was dry when we needed it to be and only rained as we were packing up.!
Great time had by all... as the following photos show !! ---> click here
Thanks to grants from Manchester Airport, Knutsford Town Council and Cheshire East Council we've been able to refurbish the junior courts during the only sustained bit of good weather we've had in the last few weeks - amazing planning Guy!
You can see pictures of the work in progress on the Tennis Section's Face Book site : Click Here (You don't have to be a Facebook user to see the photos).
We've had several pieces of good news in the last few weeks re' the various grants we've applied for aimed at helping us improve the junior courts (bottom two nearest the road) .... so a here's a big KTC thank you to : Cheshire East Council who have given us a grant for £3,500, Manchester Airport for £2,000 and not forgetting Knutsford Town Council who have awarded us £1,500 - a total of £7,000!!!
Our excellent video helped us make it into the finalist list for the ‘Active Cheshire’ application process, but unfortunately we didn’t get chosen for a grant. However we hope to apply to them again in future, now that they know all about what we are trying to do!
We continue to wait with bated breath for the outcome of our very comprehensive £50K application to ‘Inspired Facilities’ - we expect to hear from them towards the end of April, so continue to keep your fingers and toes crossed – we’re sure it helps :))
